Barack Obama (D) wins over John McCain (R)

I’ve watched US presidential election back in the Philippines, but never been really into it. Until I was here, and have seen how politicians here campaign. I’ve noticed that the president is the one who choose their VP. No big posters and signs along the streets. Media are very upfront and too liberal. So, viewers should really have to take responsibility in who to believe in. I understand now about dem and rep. But hearing both the candidates, I just simply like and agree more on the Republican candidates John McCain and Sarah Palin, well Sarah’s presence has a lot to do with me, also Mike Huckabee and Sean Hannity. I’ve always admire women who can joggle their family life and career, especially with her, a political career, which requires twice of her time than a usual career. She just has this charisma and power that I believed she can do the job. I also admired her love for her family, love of God and her values. Bet if Sarah runs as President of the Philippines I bet she’ll win hahaha! though same here there will be a lot of destructors. :) I’m just impressed by her wit and I’ve watched every single interview that she had during the campaign and maybe even after election. :) Just sharing with you guys my thoughts and experience about the US election.

But I guess Obama’s winning as I can see it, even though he’s not my bet, :) I still have good thoughts on his winning, aside from he’s the first African American US president, that makes his winning historical…which also the reason why I made a blog about this …:) But I see his winning, as hope for SOME Americans to get away with their superiority complex that leads to discrimination and arrogance. It’s a new perspective to all immigrants and to all Americans.

May God bless him more!

Let’s see, maybe in the next coming US elections they’ll have first Fil-Am president? Hahaha!

My two cents worth of thoughts.

Busy days...means busyness or business?!

Let's see if my busyness is equal to business. Whatever it takes, busy for me is something to be thankful. :) Wondering why? ... if we have something to do, that means we're not idle or lazy. An opportunity for us to keep moving. But for some busy for them is just an excuse to something, like not calling a loved one, friend or a missed occasion. :) Let me recall how's my "busyness" for the past weeks. Had a great time in Ohio, what a long drive!, long drive is sometimes great if you're just the passenger lol! You have time to look around, think while napping ( how's is it possible? lol) well, it's possible for me...it's just like day dreaming! :). A time to appreciate the quietness of the green surroundings that we passed by and just merely a get away. My online course in Open Education is almost over. Collaborating with people around the globe with same interest is amazing. Exploring the many possibilities of this new learning culture. Defi...

A crave for Tsokolate eh ...!

The other day I was craving for a hot chocolate...well maybe because of the cold weather. But I was craving for not just a hot chocolate. I want something that I used to have back in the Philippines...we call it Tsokolate eh ... wait how are you going to pronounce it ...it should be like this cho-koh-la-teh-eh!...i put the exclamation so you have an accent on the eh!...:) It's a Filipino thick hot chocolate, very similar to the signature hot chocolate of Starbucks. But of course it's way cheaper than a Starbucks hot chocolate. :) Tsokolate eh! is made up of tabrilya (tab-rillia)it's a cacao balls. But it's basically from a cacao fruit. It comes in different shapes but rounded tabrilya is the most common. :) There's a traditional way of doing this ...like before they use a beater for this called "batidor", but I don't use that anymore I just let it boil and use a regular spoon to beat it.:) Simplier but of course it taste better if it's done the...

"Philippine Hospitality" is on TWB(Teacherswithoutborders)

Philippine Hospitality is one of the characteristic that stands out among Filipinos. This is a common trait that Filipinos are known for, especially to most foreigners who have traveled around the country. They will even go out of their way to ensure guest feels comfortable. I remember my mom would have a set of towels, blankets and other stuff prepared and reserved for visitors, given that we don't have much of those for us to use. But it is a primary and mandatory custom. Although we are not the only people in the world who can be friendly and welcoming, but this characteristic is exceptional among us. Actually, there's no country in Southeast Asia where foreigners are so well welcomed as in the Philippines . I know, Thailand , Japan or China are also hospitable, but remain distant. Compare to the Filipino hospitality where in our smile is not politely distant, it is spontaneous and from the heart. What really makes "Philippine Hospitality" exceptional? Here ...
