East Coast time off: A contemporary winter getaway

It’s been a while that I haven’t been away for a getaway, let’s see how’s San Francisco, CA truly a combination of modern and classic lifestyle. The city cafes, shops and restaurants are cozy and have their own uniqueness and character. San Francisco downtown area, I can say that it's partly modern but it has its classic mystery on it. The cable cars around San Francisco really show the timeless quality of the city. I love the 'trolly ride' it's just a perfect sample of its particular classic look. The shops, buildings and houses that surround the city manifest the modern part of the place, of course the famous landmark of San Francisco ‘the golden gate’ I’m lucky to still a picture of the bridge on a sundown and still see the clearly the hanging bridge.

What's interesting to visit San Francisco is its nearby cities and bay areas that surrounds the place. Few hours’ drive will brings you to nice beaches and state parks. The scenery going to Yosemite Park is relaxing the sounds of the river is entertaining, makes you forget the winding road. The rock wall like of Yosemite is gorgeous and the sturdy pine tree that surrounds the place is relaxing. The beaches and boardwalk in the bay area is also inviting, too bad I was there on a winter wherein the water is cold but not icy, and you can still play with the waves.

What I missed about this trip is the opportunity to really get up-close with all these gorgeous places like hike, trek and camp. Let me include this in my wish list, till my next stop.

Busy days...means busyness or business?!

Let's see if my busyness is equal to business. Whatever it takes, busy for me is something to be thankful. :) Wondering why? ... if we have something to do, that means we're not idle or lazy. An opportunity for us to keep moving. But for some busy for them is just an excuse to something, like not calling a loved one, friend or a missed occasion. :) Let me recall how's my "busyness" for the past weeks. Had a great time in Ohio, what a long drive!, long drive is sometimes great if you're just the passenger lol! You have time to look around, think while napping ( how's is it possible? lol) well, it's possible for me...it's just like day dreaming! :). A time to appreciate the quietness of the green surroundings that we passed by and just merely a get away. My online course in Open Education is almost over. Collaborating with people around the globe with same interest is amazing. Exploring the many possibilities of this new learning culture. Defi...

Halloween, Undas or All Souls/Saints Day!

Back in the Philippines , we’re not used to celebrating Halloween like here in the US, where people wear costumes, decorates their houses with Halloween stuff and kids go trick or treating; and every household prepare candies.:) Though, there are some in the Philippines celebrate Halloween, but it’s not very common to us Filipinos. We celebrate this event by remembering our dead loved ones. We usually call it Undas is the Filipinized version of All Saints/Souls Day. This is a national celebration, a time of year where for most of us Filipinos consider as Family reunion. :) We like family gatherings. :) We often go to the cemetery and clean the graveyards and paint the tombs of our loved ones, also we offer prayers, flowers and prayers. Like me, I've always look forward to this celebration, being with the whole family, to take time of from work, especially with people who work far away from home, this is a great opportunity for them to visit family and definitely enjoy famil...
