Life Begins @

We usually heard this phrase with men. Does this only applies to men? It should also be true with women. But I remember when women reach this stage, they tend to panicked, they feel like they're too old to do something or too old for everything. Yes! we might be too old for something but not for everything.

Here are some of the things that I live with and keeps my optimism in life:

1. Staying and keeping in touch with your family. Whatever relationship you have with your family, and whether you're near or far keeping in touch with them helps.

2. Surround yourself with good friends that you can laugh and get silly with.

3. Find comfort with your spirituality. All my life having faith in God, gives me more strength and hope with everything that I want to do or I wish for in life.

4. Find something to do that you enjoy, always have an activity that you find interesting and that you love doing it.Like my ekindling.org, my OLPC community and singles for christ activities(back when I was in the Philippines) and even just going out with friends doing not so important things, like shopping, coffee or just doing window shopping.

5. Never lose the childlike in you. A childlike attitude knows no bounds, hopeful, careless, positive and joyful.

6. Always have a list or a thought of gratitude. Everyday there are tiny miracle things that you want to be thankful for, a nice meal, no traffic along the way, a beautiful conversation with someone, a free coffee and bagle...anything just be thankful that you had a nice day.

7. Eat well and in moderation. I won't say eat healthy it's stressful to know every single nutrients in what you eat, you know the general food that's not healthy, just eat in moderation.

8. Exercise or any activity beyond typing and staying at your desk or walking around your office or work. A nice walk, run or a trip to the gym at least just to keep your body metabolism work a little.

I didn't only read this in self-help books but this really works! Keep smiling everyone!

Thanks for the advice. You can also add the common adage live, laugh and love. We humans will not live forever, at least out physical body, so we must live for a moment, eh. Every moment is important.

Busy days...means busyness or business?!

Let's see if my busyness is equal to business. Whatever it takes, busy for me is something to be thankful. :) Wondering why? ... if we have something to do, that means we're not idle or lazy. An opportunity for us to keep moving. But for some busy for them is just an excuse to something, like not calling a loved one, friend or a missed occasion. :) Let me recall how's my "busyness" for the past weeks. Had a great time in Ohio, what a long drive!, long drive is sometimes great if you're just the passenger lol! You have time to look around, think while napping ( how's is it possible? lol) well, it's possible for me...it's just like day dreaming! :). A time to appreciate the quietness of the green surroundings that we passed by and just merely a get away. My online course in Open Education is almost over. Collaborating with people around the globe with same interest is amazing. Exploring the many possibilities of this new learning culture. Defi...

A crave for Tsokolate eh ...!

The other day I was craving for a hot chocolate...well maybe because of the cold weather. But I was craving for not just a hot chocolate. I want something that I used to have back in the Philippines...we call it Tsokolate eh ... wait how are you going to pronounce it ...it should be like this cho-koh-la-teh-eh!...i put the exclamation so you have an accent on the eh!...:) It's a Filipino thick hot chocolate, very similar to the signature hot chocolate of Starbucks. But of course it's way cheaper than a Starbucks hot chocolate. :) Tsokolate eh! is made up of tabrilya (tab-rillia)it's a cacao balls. But it's basically from a cacao fruit. It comes in different shapes but rounded tabrilya is the most common. :) There's a traditional way of doing this ...like before they use a beater for this called "batidor", but I don't use that anymore I just let it boil and use a regular spoon to beat it.:) Simplier but of course it taste better if it's done the...

"Philippine Hospitality" is on TWB(Teacherswithoutborders)

Philippine Hospitality is one of the characteristic that stands out among Filipinos. This is a common trait that Filipinos are known for, especially to most foreigners who have traveled around the country. They will even go out of their way to ensure guest feels comfortable. I remember my mom would have a set of towels, blankets and other stuff prepared and reserved for visitors, given that we don't have much of those for us to use. But it is a primary and mandatory custom. Although we are not the only people in the world who can be friendly and welcoming, but this characteristic is exceptional among us. Actually, there's no country in Southeast Asia where foreigners are so well welcomed as in the Philippines . I know, Thailand , Japan or China are also hospitable, but remain distant. Compare to the Filipino hospitality where in our smile is not politely distant, it is spontaneous and from the heart. What really makes "Philippine Hospitality" exceptional? Here ...
