My First Snowfall ! :)

From Taken by Me I just can’t keep this to myself….well, what do you expect for somebody who spent most of her life to the fascinating Islands of the Philippines . It’s just like throwing cactus into the sea. :) I’m just exaggerating here. But, I know having seen for the first time a snowfall, still a big AHA! From Taken by Me Though this is just a taste of snow; waiting for the real one. I don’t know if I still gonna like it. :) Since it’s my first snowfall, I let go of my childishness, went out and played with snowball; rather small snowball… :) or a chunk of crystals. I saw some snowflakes too. I remember back in the Philippines we used snowflakes to decorate windows on Christmas day, true enough; here, it comes naturally. J It just fell and formed on its own. :) Better read about snow here . I captured some but not a very unusual snowflakes. :) From Taken by Me From Taken by Me From Taken by Me

Pumpkin, Squash or Kalabasa??!

Before, I thought pumpkin was just a fantasy vegetable used for Halloween and that it was just derived from our very own Kalabasa(squash)..:) now that I've seen a real pumpkin, again I thought it was a miniature man-made for display for Halloween...well, it's my first time to see this pumpkin, I was like, is this real? :)hahaha and I didn't realize that they grew as big as this ...:)since I used to just seeing this in pictures and thought that they just exaggerated the size of this vegetable in pictures. But really, why is pumpkin, becomes part of the symbol of Halloween? From Taken by Me From Taken by Me Some people here in North America, uses pumpkin to decorate their garage...which I had fun lookin...and also enjoys the different pumpkin foods available like cake, soup, cookies, pie, candies...name it...and even tried Pumpkin Cafe Latte in Starbucks...:) it only shows the abundance of Pumpkins around here ... So, maybe they still believed the old saying that pumpkin was ...

New Jersey – The Garden State

After exploring the City life of New York…I was stunned by how beautiful the landscape and surroundings of New Jersey…I never thought that there’s still as fresh and green place as this could be… I can’t help to admire the tall and huge trees around, the beautiful farm lands, manicured lawns, blossoming flowers and different animals hopping and running in the backyard. Funny, I thought I was in a zoo. Gorgeous horses, fatty cows and wild animals that often farmers are not delighted to see, as they mess up their crops and trees. But, as for a visitor like me I’m excited to see deer, ground hogs and squirrels just around the backyard. Sorry guys… I know, you just want hunters to hunt these wild animals…:) From 3rd Stop From 3rd Stop From Taken by Me New Jersey offers a diverse environment, not to mention that it’s just an hour from the big city…of New York. Which is an advantage I guess, like if you get bored to be a country girl, it’s just so easy for you to get to the city, which I...

Ramdam ko ang ASENSO ko! (I can feel my progress/fruition)

The tag line I used in one of the commercial of Philippine Information Agency (PIA) . A friend of mine referred me to PIA to do this commercial; at first I was hesitant since this is a government move. But on the contrary I thought of why not doing this commercial… so people will have a chance to see the opportunities that we have around now as compare before. Another thought that comes into my mind when I did that PIA commercial is that, I want something positive things being aired in national television, being an optimist… I want for the people to see that there are also some progress happening in our country may it small or big opportunities…So, I finally say yes to do the commercial. Whew…friends calling and texting me, asking if I did a commercial or that I'm working in one of the TV station hehehe :) Well, It was just a 30 minute kinda shoot and they've got some of the catchy lines that I said on that interview….and it was only played seconds on air…which is for me not...

My Third Stop! "The City That Never Sleeps"

This is New York City™ The City that never sleeps…nor stops talking...everybody seems to be busy and talking to somebody and most likely talking on the phone while walking. :) New York is where culture, arts, dining and entertainment meets. Want to know what best things you can do in NY that suits your personality?, checked this out... What type of New Yorker …you are? :) I just did! It says....You Are a Culture Buff! You are a fixture on the arts and culture scene. You hold season tickets to The Metropolitan Opera , know every Chelsea gallery and attend all the buzz-worthy screenings—and parties—at the Tribeca Film Festival. And you're always looking to try something new, whether it's Greek food in Queens or lessons at the Streb Laboratory for Action Mechanics . Hmm, seems true enough…one thing I love with traveling is the different cultures I learned and having a bit of experienced of that culture. New York City is culturally rich, because as you can see diverse people were...

Tayo na at Maglaro (Common and let’s play)!

Sounds familiar? Yes, this is the song used for the Pancit Canton commercial. The first time I saw this commercial I was like ….”I wonder how many kids still knows how to play those games?” and really I love to watch this commercial, not just it brings me to my childhood memories but it also remind the viewers especially the parents and kids that are watching how fun to play those games. Call me traditionalist or conservative, but playing those games is one of my unforgettable experiences in my childhood. The taguan (hide and seek), sipa (game of kick), luksong tinik (jump over thorns), piko (halfscotch) and many more “ Traditional Filipino Games ” are just one of the ingenuity of the Filipino, and they’re not expensive like before we use broken pots as token for piko, we use old card board for our paper dolls and just plainly we use ourselves for playing the games without needing anything. These are the games that we enjoy before. How about the kids of today’s generation? Well,...
