Ramdam ko ang ASENSO ko! (I can feel my progress/fruition)

The tag line I used in one of the commercial of Philippine Information Agency (PIA). A friend of mine referred me to PIA to do this commercial; at first I was hesitant since this is a government move. But on the contrary I thought of why not doing this commercial… so people will have a chance to see the opportunities that we have around now as compare before. Another thought that comes into my mind when I did that PIA commercial is that, I want something positive things being aired in national television, being an optimist… I want for the people to see that there are also some progress happening in our country may it small or big opportunities…So, I finally say yes to do the commercial. Whew…friends calling and texting me, asking if I did a commercial or that I'm working in one of the TV station hehehe :) Well, It was just a 30 minute kinda shoot and they've got some of the catchy lines that I said on that interview….and it was only played seconds on air…which is for me nothing is so fancy about what I said on the interview it was a candid experience that I’ve been through …friends and families can attest to that…:)

Here’s my 2 cents worth, doing that TV ad. Comparing the opportunities before in the Philippines, we have more opportunities now. I’m talking about the boom of the IT industry and business outsourcing in the Philippines. There are job opportunities now in some provinces as opposed to jobs just being available in the Metropolitan area. People living in the provinces can work now in some companies that have the same standards that are in the metro. Hey, I’m not in some ways working for the government either, this is just my own way of sharing some of the blessings I have experience to everyone. I’m not a millionaire either…:) I’m just happy of the little things that are happening in my life and have accomplished so far. Having that mindset makes me more appreciative of life in general. So, all of us have the chance to feel any “ASENSO” (progress) may it be small or big, the thing is it's up to us on how we count our blessings. It's our choice to act on every opportunity that comes our way. :)

One more thing, On a personal note, sshh! I was also curious about how it feels to be in the TV even for seconds and media ad really works. :)

So, let’s begin writing down your small and big “ASENSO” ….

Here’s a clip of that commercial ….sorry it's not my version, can’t find my copy. :) I’ll try to find one.

Busy days...means busyness or business?!

Let's see if my busyness is equal to business. Whatever it takes, busy for me is something to be thankful. :) Wondering why? ... if we have something to do, that means we're not idle or lazy. An opportunity for us to keep moving. But for some busy for them is just an excuse to something, like not calling a loved one, friend or a missed occasion. :) Let me recall how's my "busyness" for the past weeks. Had a great time in Ohio, what a long drive!, long drive is sometimes great if you're just the passenger lol! You have time to look around, think while napping ( how's is it possible? lol) well, it's possible for me...it's just like day dreaming! :). A time to appreciate the quietness of the green surroundings that we passed by and just merely a get away. My online course in Open Education is almost over. Collaborating with people around the globe with same interest is amazing. Exploring the many possibilities of this new learning culture. Defi...

"Philippine Hospitality" is on TWB(Teacherswithoutborders)

Philippine Hospitality is one of the characteristic that stands out among Filipinos. This is a common trait that Filipinos are known for, especially to most foreigners who have traveled around the country. They will even go out of their way to ensure guest feels comfortable. I remember my mom would have a set of towels, blankets and other stuff prepared and reserved for visitors, given that we don't have much of those for us to use. But it is a primary and mandatory custom. Although we are not the only people in the world who can be friendly and welcoming, but this characteristic is exceptional among us. Actually, there's no country in Southeast Asia where foreigners are so well welcomed as in the Philippines . I know, Thailand , Japan or China are also hospitable, but remain distant. Compare to the Filipino hospitality where in our smile is not politely distant, it is spontaneous and from the heart. What really makes "Philippine Hospitality" exceptional? Here ...

US Political Candidates "Quote an Quote"...

As I read and listen to their speeches and promises ... :) I can say that politics is the same anywhere and everywhere it's all about P.O.L.I.T.I.C.S...O_o and I thought of capturing some of the quotes that really caught my attention... "I’m not going to Washington to seek their good opinion - I’m going to Washington to serve the people of this country."- Sarah Palin “But the fact that drilling won’t solve every problem is no excuse to do nothing at all."– Sarah Palin "Authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform." – Sarah Palin " This is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word “victory; except when he’s talking about his own campaign." - Sarah Palin “In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, who use their careers to promote change. – Sarah Palin "No success has come without a good fight." - John McCain ...
